Ebola Virus – The Horrifying History
Ebola is a series of life-threatening diseases which transmits from one human to another making it easier to infect the living beings around the globe. It includes a special type of fever which is known as the ‘Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever’. The Ebola produces a severe reaction inside the human body causing immense amount of pain and shivering in organs. The outbreak of this fatal disease is highlighted in the patient within 24 hours evoking a channel of disturbance such as sore throat, extreme muscle pain and unbearable headache.
The Ebola Virus Disease made its first appearance through a simultaneous outbreak in the year of 1976 which marks its official presence on the chart of some of the most horrifying syndromes that humanity has suffered in the world. The countries such as Sudan and Congo were reportedly confirmed to be infected with this overwhelming virus that affects the main organs of the body including liver and kidneys. After its transmission to the rural areas and suburbs, this life-wrenching disease was named over a river called the ‘Ebola River’.
West Africa – Ebola Outbreak Sent Ripples of Sadness:
The heart-pounding Ebola virus has triggered in the Western African countries causing as many as 4,960 deaths in 2014. The figures have all the intentions to increase as this alarming situation is prevailing from one portion of the continent to another especially in the rural areas where patients are deprived of any medical services or health reservations.
World Health Organization states that, “It is the worst Ebola outbreak in the decades when more than 4500 people have already died and the list of causalities is not stopping at all. It seems that the Western-African countries are getting overwhelmed with this devastating virus disease especially in Guinea which has contributed the most to the death toll”.
In Liberia, according to an online source from ‘Wikipedia’, the outburst of EVD (Ebola Virus Disease) was reported in the counties of Lofa and Nimba. The government decided to halt the border areas and every gateway that allowed the people to enter the region. Wikipedia claims that more than 90% of the schools and universities remained closed except for the airport. The frightened citizens remained cautious from therein and screening centers were established for maximum filtration of this fatal disease.

As I’ve watched the news about the Ebola outbreak, it breaks my heart. This is perfectly preventable. The issue is that we’ve become complacent about the absolute necessity of providing at least the basics to ALL people in ALL nations — clean water, housing, food and health care.
Perhaps this will be yet another wake up call to all of us who are privileged to live in the luxury of the First World.
Hi Cathy, yes, this is definitely a wake up call. It’s too bad it had to be this way, but sometimes it takes something bad for something good to happen. At times, the basic necessities are not even enough. We have to look out for each other and do more in the health care area to make sure we are prepared. I pray for the lost souls. Outbreaks like this are so devastating. It would be easy for most countries to pretend it won’t ever affect them but recent events clearly prove otherwise.

It is very tragic and thank you so much for sharing the story. The US doesn’t always get the full version outside of the US. While it has now become a “big deal” here in the US… could you imagine what it is like there? I can’t!
Absolutely! It’s hard to imagine. We have to put ourselves in the patient’s shoes in order to feel it. Not everybody gets it and that is disturbing.
